Hun Manet Officially Sworn in as General

PHNOM PENH: Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces and Commander-in-Chief of the Army, Gen. Hun Manet, was officially sworn in as a 4-Star General by the Minister of National Defense, Samdech Pichey Tea Banh, at a ceremony on the morning of 20 April 2023 at the Ministry of National Defense.

The King issued a Royal Decree ordering the promotion of Hun Manet from Lieutenant General to General on 17 March. At today’s ceremony, attended by over 1,000 senior military officials, General Hun Manet thanked King Norodom Sihamoni for his willingness to promote him to the highest rank in the military. He also thanked Prime Minister Hun Sen, DPM Tea Banh, and General Vong Pisen, Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces, for their trust and support as he fulfils his duties to serve the nation and its people.

General Hun Manet posted a message on social media, "I have given ranks to officers, deputies, thousands of soldiers in the army. Today, it is my turn to receive this honor."

Hun Manet has contributed a lot to advance Cambodia’s prominence by participating in the fight against Covid-19, contributing to the development of society and religious freedom and promoting the country’s image on the international stage through developing partnerships and establishing military cooperation with other countries.
